HoneyBear WildCrafted - Pure Raw honey is among the finest available today anywhere in Texas. The most common plants involved in the production of our Honey are Texas Bee Brush, Mesquite, Persimmon, Cactus and CatClaw. When it is compared with the same amount of sugar, it gives 40% less calories to the body. Although it gives great energy to the body, it does not add weight. Our honey is a natural anti-bacterial, anti-fungal, anti-viral, anti-tumor food that supports optimal brain function.
It is radically different than what you will find commercially in stores. Our honey is fresh from the bees and is NOT pasteurized (killing many of the health-promoting benefits), NOT refined (changing the actual make-up of the honey), NOT diluted (many honey producers dilute their honey with water to stretch it and get more profit) and is NOT expensive when compared with inferior products commercially sold.
There is a common myth about raw honey regarding "heating." All honey is heated to some degree in order to "rob" it from the hives. Our honey is never heated beyond the bare minimum necessary to extract the honey from the hives and to product the unique flavor that has made our honey so popular for longer than 95% of you have been alive. The production of raw, wild honey is an art, every bit as much as a science and our art has been perfected over a long period of time, doing nothing else but HONEY!
When confronted by statements relating to heat, it is important to remember two things:
Opaqueness and Viscosity are also variable factors relating to moisture content, heat and the types of plants or flowers that are pollenated by the bees. Ê Moisture content at time the bees rob the fruit is also a factor. We limit how much flower honey is put into batch which is part of the secret why our honey tastes so good. Some plants have less moisture than others, etc. Catclaw and Mesquites at blooming time (produce really thick honey).
Our primary bee pollenation areas have existed for 50+ years in many cases. If there has been any brush control (by the state or by owners) then we do NOT use those pastures. Most of our bees are on good size ranches. Their areas are controlled very carefully.
Our Honey is native to central Texas and as such can be found in the hive at temperatures well over 100°F. We never heat the honey beyond the absolute minimum necessary to extract it and at different times of the year, it is not necessary to heat at all. The level to which we heat the honey is FAR below the commonly understood point that enzymatic destruction begins.
Honey has been used as a folk remedy for burns, cataracts, ulcers, and wounds. Scientists reported in the Journal of Apicultural Research (Berenbaum et al.) that the darker the honey the higher the level of anti-oxidants.
HoneyBear WildCrafted - Pure Raw honey is a very rich, dark amber color. Anti-oxidants destroy free-radicals in the body which cause aging and disease. As a result, our body immunity is improved. A Clemson University Study, raw honey was shown to be a potent anti-bacterial agent. Raw honey contains an enzyme called glucose oxidase that, when combined with water, produces hydrogen peroxide, a mild antiseptic.
Other benefits of HoneyBear Wildcrafted, Pure Raw Honey
Approximately one half of mankind's diet is derived directly or indirectly from crops pollinated by bees. Today honeybees are an essential part of a healthy agriculture economy. If you have allergies, honey can be beneficial. If you eat honey that is local to your area, it may prevent your seasonal allergies. Bees use the pollen from local plants and eventually it ends up in your honey.
Regular users of honey are among the longest lived people. Beekeepers are known to suffer less from cancer & arthritis than any other working group worldwide.
